COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band will return to Cantigny on July 12 for 'Rockin’ for Our Vets,' a fundraising concert beginning with preperformance entertainment at 5 p.m., an opening act at 6 p.m., and the band's headlining set at 7 p.m.—ticket sales will benefit the West Suburban Foundation for Disabled Veterans and support 20 local charities.  Daily Herald

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A house fire in Streamwood caused $150,000 in damages early Saturday at 3:31 a.m.—no one was injured, and fire crews from several nearby departments helped extinguish the blaze.  Daily Herald
  • A 5-year-old Plainfield boy drowned in a private Buffalo Grove pool Friday at 6:30 p.m., and paramedics arrived to perform CPR before transporting him to an Arlington Heights hospital where he was later pronounced dead as authorities said the incident remains under investigation.  Daily Herald
