- ➤ A house fire in Streamwood caused $150,000 in damages early Saturday at 3:31 a.m.—no one was injured, and fire crews from several nearby departments helped extinguish the blaze. Daily Herald
- ➤ A 5-year-old Plainfield boy drowned in a private Buffalo Grove pool Friday at 6:30 p.m., and paramedics arrived to perform CPR before transporting him to an Arlington Heights hospital where he was later pronounced dead as authorities said the incident remains under investigation. Daily Herald
