About this event
From fast fashion and excessive packaging creating waste, to the fuel consumption of delivery trucks from online retailers and even driving from boutique store to boutique store, the holidays cause a spike in negative environmental impacts. We would like to offer our guests an opportunity to reduce these impacts.
We're inviting local makers whose products are made from natural, recycled and/or upcycled materials to showcase and sell their merchandise to help all our guests find some sustainable ways to fulfill their holiday needs.
Vendors for 2026 include:
Restless Creatures - Featuring hand-tooled ornaments, hangable wall art, and garlands made of recycled and reclaimed materials
The Mulberry Rabbit - Featuring handmade needle felted wool ornaments, pins, snowmen, and gift items
Sturge Stitch - Featuring beanies, scarves, bandanas, and other winter items
Flip City / TT's Funhouse - Featuring acrylic paintings of Chicago, upcycled pottery, upcycled embellished jars, frames, and found objects
Story Lago - Featuring upcycled miniatures, fairy houses, and displays
ReFelt - Featuring clothing, jewelry and household items such as blankets, runners and coasters made from repurposed and recycled/upcycled wool and felt
From Odds to Ends - Featuring upcycled jewelry
Wastenot Compost
All of our Makers Market Vendors will be located in the South Gallery of the museum.
We will also be joined by local vendors selling food and drink out of our Science Labs.
Listed by DoStuff: Chicago, IL and CitySpark: Chicago, IL, gathered by the Chicago events calendar.
