  • UIC Chancellor Marie Lynn Miranda hosted two hot chocolate gatherings on Dec. 2 at Student Center East and on Dec. 3 at Student Center West, where faculty and staff enjoyed warm drinks and snacks — a welcome break amid frigid weather and pre-exam jitters.  Today UIC

  • Federal agents raided a South Shore building last September and tenants must leave by Dec. 12 due to unsafe conditions and chronic code violations; union organizers are meeting with Mayor Brandon Johnson’s office for better relocation support (Judge Debra A. SPORTS NEWS

  • Mount Carmel's football team clinched its 17th state championship with a 20-3 win over Oswego at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb on Wednesday, Dec. 3. The team, now 14-0, capped a strong defensive performance in cold 20° weather and extended its playoff winning streak to 20 games.  Hyde Park Herald
