- ➤ UIC Strategic Marketing and Communications is seeking nominations for December graduates with unique achievements and inspiring college stories — nominators should send the student's full name, program, brief story, and contact details by Friday, Nov. 14. The effort aims to highlight students who have earned prestigious fellowships or internships and who can share their success on campus. Today UIC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, on Veterans Day, three UIC police officers (Officer Tim Williams, Sergeant Daniel Esquilin, and Deputy Chief Jason Huertas) explained how their military service taught them duty, teamwork, and care for the campus. They said lessons from missions overseas and peacekeeping now guide them as they work to keep the community safe. Today UIC
- ➤ Chicago Park District announced a restoration worth several million dollars for Jackson Park’s historic Burnham Building using federal funding from a HUD grant; work will begin next spring once final environmental clearance is secured. The project will restore its original Spanish tile roof and open loggia — key features of its 1912 design. Hyde Park Herald
