  • Hyde Park was once home to a vibrant art colony that began in 1893 with wooden fairground stands built for the World’s Columbian Exposition. The stands later housed studios and community events that helped shape a bohemian enclave of artists and intellectuals in the neighborhood.  Hyde Park Herald

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Illinois Chicago launched its official podcasts — 'This is UIC' and 'This is UIC Weekly' — to share interviews with faculty, staff and students that highlight campus impact through personal stories. Episodes will drop biweekly on Tuesdays and weekly on Friday mornings and are available on major streaming platforms.  Today UIC

  • Chicago’s largest indoor pickleball facility is expanding to Kenwood and will open a second location on November 3 at 1301 E. 47th St.—the former CSO Multiplex that will offer indoor tennis, pickleball, volleyball, and basketball courts along with snack retail and sports classes.  Hyde Park Herald
