🎓 Education
A $1 million pledge by alumnus Don Barry and his wife Peggy will permanently endow Mount Carmel’s James Barda Leadership Award to provide 20 students with $2,000 yearly scholarships.
The school, located at 6410 S. Dante Ave, has raised half of the $2.2 million goal and is seeking further donations.
🏥 Health
UIC hosts Healthy Campus Week from Sept.
9 to Sept. 19 to promote wellness. Campus events include a Farmers Market & Sustainability event at the Quad on Sept. 9, a food drive, a physical challenge on Sept. 16, mindfulness sessions on Sept. 17 and an outdoor adventure on Sept. 19.
