🎓 Education
UIC researchers have engineered a new ribosome that makes a single protein and may eventually boost peptide-based drug production.
The prototype study opens possibilities in synthetic biology and designer treatments.
UIC was designated as an Age-Friendly University by the Age-Friendly University Global Network for creating inclusive spaces for older adults to learn and stay engaged with community programs (led by the College of Applied Health Sciences).
The initiative adds to UIC’s partnerships and research on healthy aging.
