  • Chicago police said Tuesday that they are investigating antisemitic graffiti discovered on the 1300 block of East 53rd Street in Hyde Park—one of eight incidents reported since June 23 that have targeted public property.  Hyde Park Herald

CULTURE NEWS

  • Schaumburg officials are hosting Septemberfest this weekend at the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts despite changes from new village hall construction — musical acts like Danny Seraphine & CTA, Cinderella’s Tom Keifer, and Sister Hazel are set to perform along with carnival rides, parades, and fireworks. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Aug. 30-31 and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sept. 1 with free admission.  Daily Herald

  • UIC has partnered with Kaplan to offer free test prep and career readiness courses that have saved students over $12 million and support preparation for more than 40 exam types.
