- ➤ Gbenga Abosede held a news conference on Friday asking Naperville residents for help locating his wife, Olasinmibo Abosede—who left her home on Sudbury Street for a walk on July 30—and said police have canvassed the neighborhood and reviewed video footage without suspecting foul play. - ➤ Jacob Ryan Reno draws unflattering portraits for $5 at his Logan Square Farmers Market stand on Sundays. Since May, he has drawn over 500 portraits and now performs at local bars and parks to offer five-minute sessions—each attracting community interest. Daily Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Last Friday in Lombard, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem accused Gov. JB Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson of stopping federal deportations by saying local law stops police from helping ICE without a warrant. Noem showed posters of detained offenders and a table of confiscated guns, money, and fentanyl (to highlight dangerous criminal activity) while about 100 protesters gathered outside (to challenge her claims).
