A pilot survived a rough landing after his small plane lost power shortly after takeoff from Aurora Municipal Airport on Tuesday morning—air traffic controllers used a light gun to guide the aircraft when its landing gear did not fully deploy—and he was not injured as he headed to Florida, with federal authorities investigating the incident.
