Good morning, Chicago.
🏛️ Government
Prestige Feed Products, a controversial animal feed manufacturer in Mount Prospect, may cease operations by December 31 if Tuesday’s board vote approves a settlement that limits operating hours—neighbors have long complained about the plant’s odor.
The agreement calls for twice-weekly odor tests by an independent service and is expected to save about $400,000 in legal fees.
🏥 Health
Last October, Mike Torti donated his kidney in a paired exchange to help his former neighbor's son, Jacob Fill (28), receive a lifesaving transplant after years on dialysis.
His selfless act raised awareness of kidney exchange programs that help extend patients’ lives.
