- ➤ Carolyn Castaño debuts her Chicago exhibit 'My Mother Mountain' at UIC Gallery 400, featuring paintings, watercolors & mixed media that examine the decline of Colombia’s Andean glaciers and challenge early romantic views through Indigenous symbols and old maps. Today UIC
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Brandon Barksdale, a UIC PhD student, built community support programs during his term as president of the Jane Addams College of Social Work student government (including a Student Peer Advocacy program) after shifting from EMT work on the West Side. He now studies low-cost green space interventions for inner-city youth. Today UIC
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ UIC and UI Health researchers received $9 million from the Office of Naval Research to test telesurgery under simulated satellite conditions, showing safe surgery with up to 378 ms latency. Their work aims to improve care for combat casualties and rural patients by using remote robotic systems. Today UIC
