- ➤ Rosemont village board approved spending $176,265 to create a walking, talking animatronic of its founding mayor that will serve as the centerpiece of a new local history museum scheduled to open Jan. 20. The robot—designed by Sally Dark Rides using an hour-long 2005 speech—will be motion activated and ready in June as Mayor Brad Stephens and his son Joseph raise funds to support the project. - ➤ Prospect Heights will resume its debate on backyard chicken rules at a city council meeting on May 27. City Administrator Joe Wade said there will be no vote then—Mayor Patrick Ludvigsen prefers starting the ordinance reading on June 9 with a vote on June 23. Daily Herald
