Suburban Catholics attended Sunday Mass at Our Lady of the Wayside Church in Arlington Heights — a celebration of Chicago native Robert Francis Prevost’s selection as Pope Leo XIV — and expressed hope that his local roots will guide his focus on the poor and unite the community.
Artist Aram Han Sifuentes will lead free nonggi workshops at Hull-House where materials and Korean snacks are provided for all skill levels, as part of a celebration of Chicago’s immigrant legacies.
The banners created in the workshops will be displayed in the Hull-House Courtyard on June 1—highlighting over 130 years of craft and the ongoing fight for racial justice.
