- ➤ A’Lester Allen, a UIC postdoctoral researcher, was named Postdoctoral Scholar of the Year for using Raman microscopy to study peptides without interfering with their natural behavior. His work may lead to safer treatments for diseases like autoimmune disorders and cancer. Today UIC

- ➤ The DOJ has extended the ADA Title II compliance deadline for UIC and other public institutions to April 26, 2027, giving the community extra time to build on enhanced digital accessibility efforts that include more training and new AI tools for PDFs. Today UIC
- ➤ Federal food assistance may cut off for 150,000 Illinois households beginning May 1 as new work requirements from H.R. 1 already affected residents like Chicago mother Tatiana. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ UIC researchers developed VT-109—a new molecule that stops lung fluid leakage and boosts lung function for people with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Tested on mice with promising results, the treatment will advance to clinical trials with Oregon Health Sciences University. Today UIC
