Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 4th of March.
Good morning, Chicago.
🏘️ Community
Paul Cornell, known as Father of Hyde Park, built a thriving community in the mid-1800s after arriving in Chicago with little money and a law license.
He secured a key train deal that spurred development south of 12th Street — laying a foundation for the neighborhood's growth.
Hyde Park Union Church has received a $163,838 city grant (Adopt-A-Landmark funding) for roof repairs on its education wing at 5600 S Woodlawn Ave, announced in January.
The grant will cover most of the $175,000 project that supports the food pantry and community services.
