EDUCATION NEWS

  • Transfer student Zoey Zhang found a sense of belonging at UIC after joining the peer coaching program and receiving financial + social support through the Aspire grant launched in fall 2025; her experience reflects UIC’s growing enrollment and commitment to helping students succeed.  Today UIC
  • UIC College of Nursing released lesson plans on Black nurses history for middle, high school, and college educators today. Developed under the Teaching Care curriculum led by Gwyneth Franck, the resource fills a gap in nursing education by using primary archival details and pilot data to boost awareness about health inequities.  Today UIC

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Illinois lawmakers advanced a bill on Thursday that would let developers freeze property tax assessments for megaprojects including a potential Bears stadium in Arlington Heights. The full House adjourned without a vote, and further action is set for March 18.  Hyde Park Herald
