EDUCATION NEWS

  • UIC's online bachelor's programs ranked third nationally in the U.S. News Best Online Programs released Jan. 27, affirming its role as a leader in flexible education for working students. The ranking underscores UIC's strong commitment to expanding access + quality online education.  Today UIC
  • UIC Fraternity and Sorority Life hosted the Warm Up with FSL event at Student Center East earlier this month, giving prospective members a chance to meet 26 Greek organizations (representing 700 members) focused on community service and social events. LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Chicago Restaurant Week has begun and will run for 17 days after last Friday’s kickoff. More than 550 eateries, including eight in Hyde Park, offer prix fixe menus starting at $30 for brunch and $45 or $60 for dinner.  Hyde Park Herald

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Antheus Capital bought Vue 53 apartments at 1330 E. 53rd St. in Hyde Park for $57.6M in December — a move that underscores growing investor expansion on the South Side. The 267-unit, 2016-built building was marketed to University of Chicago students and faculty.  Hyde Park Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • The UIC Flames held a free pre-game celebration on January 27 at Millennium Lanes (Student Center East) before their game against Indiana State at Credit Union 1 Arena. The event featured free food, non-alcoholic drinks, bowling, shuttle service and a free student ticket.  Today UIC
