- ➤ UIC Institute for the Humanities is hosting a Faculty Fellow Lecture with Dr. Soledad Álvarez Velasco (assistant professor in anthropology) as she discusses migrant transit and spatial struggles in her talk on transborder migration. - ➤ The Illinois Cancer Health Research Center held its fourth annual symposium (Partners with Purpose: Serving Communities through Cancer Research and Innovation) Friday, Jan. 16. The in-person event was free and offered lunch to help community members learn about new advances in cancer research. Today UIC
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Woodlawn Central, a mixed-use megadevelopment led by Apostolic Church of God, seeks zoning approval and may break ground later this year at 6320 S. Dorchester Ave—its first phase will include 231 apartments, a parking garage, retail space, and affordable housing. Hyde Park Herald
